Leading up to the 9th annual Global Youth Economic Opportunities Summit (October 6-8) in Washington, D.C., Making Cents International is organizing a series of virtual events designed to increase knowledge sharing and capacity building for those working to ensure youth economic inclusion. One of these events is the Webinar: From Education to Employment: Solutions to Tackle Youth Unemployment by Bridging the Job Market Gap | Tuesday, August 11 | 9:00 AM EST
Youth unemployment is one of the greatest and most complex challenges of our time, and among many other factors, the widening gap between the education system and the labor market is a driving force of youth unemployment in many countries. Due to the complexity of the issue, the resolution of global youth unemployment requires the collective effort of a variety of stakeholders, including educators, public policy and employers. This webinar takes a deep dive into the crisis and seeks to disentangle the factors and actors that collectively led to it. Moreover, it provides insights into challenges and opportunities that arise at the intersection of the education system and the labor market. To conclude, it offers a variety of creative ideas for how each and everyone of us can get actively involved in his or her daily function to help and tackle youth unemployment.
Peter Vogel, author of ‘Generation Jobless? Turning the Youth Unemployment Crisis Into Opportunity,’ Michelle Blanchet of the Educators’ Lab, and Carsten Sudhoff of the Circular Society, will provide insights into the challenges and opportunities that arise at the intersection of the education and labor market and offer a variety of creative ideas for tackling youth unemployment. Space is limited, learn more and register today to reserve your spot.
