On October 8th, a half-day special session on soft skills, supported by Workforce Connections, will build on learning from the Symposium and extend the conversation to 460+ stakeholders from over 70 countries attending the annual Summit. In the keynote address, New York Times best-selling author Paul Tough will share his expertise on soft skill development among children and youth, drawing from his book How Children Succeed: Grit, Curiosity, and the Hidden Power of Character.
This will be followed by a plenary session on the evidence base for soft skills and workforce outcomes, and the implications for international youth workforce development programs. Breakout sessions will cover soft skills measurement and assessment, proven practices in implementation, and development of socio-emotional skills.
